How Our Sand Mixer Works
The superior performance of our foundry sand mixer is driven by its specialized muller wheels and strategically angled mixing blades (plows). The machine features a heavy-duty, stationary cylindrical pan where the raw materials are loaded.
As the powerful central drive shaft rotates, the heavy muller wheels roll over the sand, applying an aggressive compressive and shearing force. This “mulling” action forces the clay and moisture deep into the pores of the sand grains. Simultaneously, the mixing blades continuously scrape the sand from the pan’s walls and bottom, tossing it back into the path of the rollers. This continuous cycle guarantees a completely homogenous, fluffy, and highly aerated sand mixture ready for the molding line.
