How Our Suspended Magnet Works
The operation of our industrial suspension magnet is entirely passive yet incredibly powerful. The unit consists of a massive permanent magnetic block securely enclosed in a heavy-duty, stainless steel casing. It is typically suspended above the conveyor belt using heavy chains and adjustable turnbuckles.
As the bulk material flows underneath on the moving belt, the deep-reaching magnetic field penetrates the material stream. Any tramp iron—such as stray bolts, tools, or rebar—is instantly pulled upward and held securely against the bottom face of the magnet. Because this is a manual-cleaning model, once a significant amount of metal has accumulated, the operator simply swings the magnet away from the conveyor (or places a collection tray underneath) and manually sweeps the trapped metal off the magnet’s face.
