How Our Magnetic Head Pulley Works
The operation of our industrial magnetic pulley is highly efficient and entirely self-cleaning. The unit is installed at the discharge end of a flat or troughed belt conveyor, acting as the primary drive or tail head pulley. The entire internal core of the pulley is packed with a continuous, powerful permanent magnetic field.
As the bulk material travels along the conveyor belt and reaches the head pulley, the non-magnetic product follows its natural trajectory and falls freely straight off the end into a collection chute. However, any tramp iron or ferrous metal hidden in the material stream is instantly attracted by the magnetic pulley. The metal is held tightly against the belt and carried underneath the pulley. Once the belt pulls away from the magnetic field on the underside, the tramp iron automatically drops off into a separate designated reject bin.
