Over Band Magnetic Separator are expertly designed to efficiently eliminate tramp metal from products transported on conveyor belts. Positioned above flat or trough-type conveyors, Over-Band Magnate Separators continuously remove tramp iron and other ferrous contaminants from the conveyed materials. Equipped with large permanent magnetic packs, these separators generate deep-penetrating magnetic flux fields, ensuring thorough and effective removal of unwanted metal particles. Rubber belt is driven around two rollers with the magnetic pack position in the center. Other separators used over conveyor belts include: conveyor head roller, strip magnets, hinged strip magnets, deep field plate magnets.
The Over Band Magnetic Separator is made of High Intensity Strontium Ferrite Magnets and Rare Earth magnet are guaranteed for the Magnetic Power through out the life of installation. A non-Magnetic Stainless Steel Plate is provided to cover the poles of Magnet. There is no for any electrical supply or maintenance.
How Our Cross-Belt Magnetic Separator Works
The operation of our overband magnetic separator is fully automated and designed for continuous duty. The machine is typically suspended crosswise or in-line over a moving conveyor belt. It consists of a massive, powerful permanent magnet block surrounded by a continuously moving, heavy-duty rubber belt.
As the bulk material flows underneath on the main conveyor, the deep-reaching magnetic field penetrates the material load. Any tramp iron (such as nuts, bolts, tools, or rebar) is instantly violently attracted upward and snaps against the separator’s moving belt. The cleats on the moving belt then carry the captured iron out of the magnetic field, dropping it safely into a separate collection bin positioned on the side of the conveyor. This self-cleaning action ensures that the magnet never gets blocked by accumulated metal.
